Moonlight
A good short story does not just depend on the author’s way of presenting the plot but also in the way a character is developed. The story “Moonlight” by Guy de Maupassant was able to present a strong main character that eventually changed at the end of the story.
At the beginning, the character of Abbe Marignan was described as a servant of God. He believes that he fully conceives and follows the plans, wishes and intentions of God. But on the other side, the author was able to make the readers see that Abbe, though a priest, has an unreasonable philosophy. He is a woman hater. His biased perception about women was evidently seen in the seventh and eighth paragraph. One of the lines says that “Woman for him was precisely that child twelve times unclean of whom the poet speaks.”
As the story grows, the authors tied to shift the mood as he changed his description of Abbe’s character with the aid of the priest’s niece. The niece reveals the lighter side of the main character-that father like side. This implies that Abbe, though a hater of women and a none-believer of love can still change.
Abbe’s attitude towards the beauty of moonlight shows his childlike side. This just shows that though he believes he know a lot of things; he is still not capable of seeing the entire beauty of God’s creation.
He eventually realized that he was wrong for hating women and love. That he was in opposed of God’s plans and wishes. And then he realized that he don’t have any right to oppose the original design of God. As the last line says:
“And he fled, distraught, almost ashamed, as if he had entered a temple where he had no right to be.”

The Cask Of Amontillado
The story of the Cask of Amontillado by Edgar allan Poe is about the revenge of Montressor to Fortunato’s insult to him. Montressor killed Fortunato by burying him alive.
Like any other works of Edgar Allan Poe, death is the theme of the story. This may be because Poe suffered so much pain when his mother and wife died. The name Poe is always associated to mind images of mad men and murdreres which was evidently seen in the character of Montressor.

On the other hand, Poe makes use of the wire as the symbol of Montressor’s revenge to the insult of Fortunato because Poe has been an alcoholic when his beloved wife passed away very prematurely. Because he loves wines very much, it would always be an insult if somebody would doubt his ability to recognize wine. Just like when Montressor was insulted when Fortunato doubted his ability to distinguish amontillado form cherry.
The setting of the story is on the old times when family mansions have catacombs underground. In olden times, family members were being buried underground. In addition, Poe’s experience
KU TURION SI KULAKOG

“Ku Turion Si Kulakog” by Jose Chancoco is a story of a boy named Bornok who is about to be circumcised. The story revolves around the boy and how he was torn between his fears and the culture of his society.
Chancoco was able to show the fear that every boy would probably feel when the time for his circumcision is approaching. He used the imaginary character Kulakog to show that the main character is afraid of things that he was not sure of. He is afraid that his circumcision will be very painful.
On the other hand, Kulakog was made by the older to make the young ones to do things. He served as an external motivation for the children which eventually created a negative impact. The story somehow shows that children believe to whatever their elder says. That they need to be circumcised so that Kulakog will not get them.
However, the character of Kulakog may not only be applicable to children afraid to be circumcised. Kulakog may represent that people feel. In our lives, we are always afraid of things that we don’t really know. There will always be a Kulakog in everyone. And now somebody fights to his own “Kulakog” is the excuse of everything.

The other two
As the experts says, Psychoanalytical Feminism is focused on ender inequality as a result of the stereotype that men believe themselves to be masculine and women believe themselves to be feminine. Edith Warthorn’s “The other two” clearly shows that the stereotype is not true at all. It is for the reason that the story’s theme is focus on the characteristic of woman who was seen to be stronger, more composed and relaxed than her husband.
Wharton was able to characterized Alice as a woman who would never worry as stated in the line “but she had the perfectly balanced nerves.” This could be very significant for it clearly shows that the woman character or the female character is the most dominant character in the story. The very fact that Alice can handle the situation with ease and with perfectly balanced nerves shows that the belief that women are weak is wrong. Warthorn further described Alice as a woman “who had a way of surmounting obstacles without seeking to be aware of them” a characteristic that is perceived to be a nature for men.
Alice was further described as a woman who stands on her own feet. She does what she wants even her husband disagrees. This was clearly stated in the line, “he saw that she had obeyed his injunction and forgotten.”
On the other hand, Mr. Waythorn was described as a man who possesses feminine characteristic. He is often impliedly compared to his wife’s masculine characteristics. This might mean that the author is trying to show the male character in the story is a bit weaker than the female one. This can be noted in the way the author described the way Mr. Waythorn thinks – as he believes that he is wearing a thin nerve.
It is a common belief that men are more dominant than women. That husbands should be the one to rule over their wives. But the story shows that it could be the other the way. That women can be stronger than men. That the female can be a lot better than men in many ways.

Daffodils
The poem “Daffodils” by William Wordsworth is a four stanza poem which aims to show how people neglect the beauty of nature because they have become very busy with their lives. The author followed a certain structure in writing the poem. It has a rhyme scheme which goes like “ABABCC”. The first four lines of each stanza show an alternating pattern of rhyme scheme while the last two lines shows the same rhyme.
The structure of the poem is its foundation. Wordsworth was able to use simple but melodious words. This shows that life, simple as it is gives beauty to human. On the other hand, the author was able to use Daffodil as a representation of innocent beauty – just like nature. “Daffodils” is a kind of flower that can be seen only in spring time. Therefore, the poem shows the reader an insight about the spring, something that can be associated with rebirth.
Wordsworth also tried to use figures of speech like the simile and personification seen in the first line. “I wandered lonely as a crowd.”
The last stanza shows that the persona is enticed to follow the beauty of the Daffodils. “And then my heart with pleasure fills and dances with Daffodils.”
