Daffodils

A daffodil by William Wordsworth is a poem about a coming of spring season. It reminds us that the season for glowing of the daffodil is arising. Daffodil is a flower which glows seasonal. Its spring time is every month of March. It is a four stanza poem which has an alternating rhyme scheme that shows a continuous flow of expression. In the first stanza, the persona’s trying to say is that, when he is busy by doing everything, he didn’t notice something until he saw a lot of daffodils beside the river, and he imagined that each of them are dancing in the water. The next stanza is a continuation of the emotion of the persona, he uses other elements to express his feelings when he sees the daffodils. In the third stanza, there is a line “a poet could not be gay” it was said there because the emotion or the expression of the persona is like a gay when he saw something that make him happy or astonished. It seems like a lady who excites and jumps in joy.  And in the last stanza, even he didn’t see the daffodils, he still imagined the beauty of it in his relaxation, it still flashes in his mind. The beauty of daffodils we didn’t notice in our busy time, we didn’t give any importance on it but if we appreciate it we will see the beauty and importance of it.
The theme of this poem is the collection of human emotions inspired by nature that ewe may neglected due to our busy lives. If we look deeper to our nature, it will give us different kind of emotions depending to the appearance of it. Sometimes those things that we neglected are those things that will give us satisfaction and happiness, and sometimes it will inspire us to do something better.

The Other Two

A story is a feminist criticism because it focuses on the women who married three men. Waythorn is a present husband of Alice, and the other two Mr. Haskett and Gus Varick are her ex-husbands.  It can be psychoanalytic feminism because as what Mr. Waythorn said that he prefer to marry a who have a lot of experience rather than to a virgin one, because he think that if a person has a lot of experience she probably mastered doing it. It shows that psychoanalytic is presented in a story.
Alice was a woman in the story who married Mr. Haskett, and Varick before and her present husband was Mr. waythorn. Mr. waythorn doesn’t was his wife is still seeing to her ex-husbands. But it is needed because of her child to Mr. Haskett and the partnership in business to Gus Varick. By this issue, the two main characters have a reciprocal characteristics, Alice has a masculine characteristics while Mr. Waythorn has a feminine characteristics because of his doubts to his wife. Alice has masculine characteristics because she understands everything and he can able to do what is to be done. Feminist criticism is not only focuses to the gender of a woman but also to the difference between men and women. The two main character was differ from each other because as what Warthon characterized Alice in the story, she can handle the situation with ease and perfectly balanced nerves, it shows that women are not weak, because based on the belief that women are weak compared to men it was wrong because in this story, women proves that they can do what men can do. Alice described in the story as a woman who can sat and on her own and can do what she wants to do even her partner disagree.
On the other hand, Mr. Waythorn described in the story has the feminine characteristics because of the things that he always thinks for his wife, for what his wife possessed.
The focus of the story that is why it is a feminist criticism because of the female character in the story, it was Alice, because Alice is dominant among other woman, she possessed a characteristic of a man that her husband can’t do.

A Poison Tree

A poison tree is a poem about the growing anger. Tree is the metaphor for anger which is growing on and on and finally bears a fruit of anger itself. It grows from a small seed to a big deadly tree. Poison means for something dangers and can be harmful which leads into deaths.
From the first stanza, the line “I was angry with my friend, I told my wrath , my wrath did end”, it means that the persona is angry with his friend, and if he tell the reason why he is angry with him, everything will be fine, and the next line “I was angry with my foe ; I told it not, my wrath did grow”, it means that he is angry with his enemy and he would never tell him why, the anger will grow. The statement is contradict to the first and second stanza lines because if tell that he is angry to his foe, his foe will think negative to him, so he preferred to keep his anger to himself to be all fine, but when he keeps it , it grows on and on. In the second stanza, the persona uses the basic needs of a plant which is watered and sunned to grow. He uses it to relate in himself that when he keeps inside his anger it will grow like watered and sunned trees. His anger maintains inside him and it grows and grows. He is treating his foe in a natural and calm voice , until he convinced his foe as his friend and it bore a fruit which bring to revenge to his fo0e, until the time comes that he killed his foe.
Aa, bb, cc, dd, ee, ff, gg, hh, this is the rhyme scheme of this poem, it helps the reader to get the meaning of the [poem because it is continouos, like the tree it starts with a simple seed and when it is planted it will grow and turn into tree, and in relation to the poem the persona used a tree to show how the anger grew, it is like a tree when it keep, it grows and it can bear fruit , a poisonous fruit that can kill someone.

Moonlight

The significance of moonlight in the story is that it gave a clear mind ton Abbe Marignan to face reality, to realize that everything happened, everything existed was a Gods will and each of this has its own role and has its purpose why they are existed. Dawns existed to make waking up a pleasure, days to ripen crops, rains to water them; evening to prepare for slumber, and the night was dark for sleeping. The four season were perfectly fitted to all the needs of agriculture; and it would never have occurred to the priest to suspect that nature has no intentions at all and that, on the contrary, every  living things has bowed to the hard necessities of times, climates and matter itself. He hated woman unconsciously because he believed that woman was the temptress who had ensnared the first man and who still continued her damnable work.
All it changed when he realized what he believed was a contrary to the reality  and it happened when the moonlight spread out at night when he is walking down the river, he noticed all things are beautiful when it is spotted by the light of the moon, and he realized the importance and the beauty and also the role of each creature, he realized that even a little thing has a role in this world, but we didn’t notice it because we are just focusing only to the one who gives us satisfaction in everyday life. We are ignoring those things which at first we didn’t see any potential or any importance to us, we Rae only look once, and if there’s none, we leave it and we didn’t look for it in a deeper way. And there are things that we appreciate only if we look it in a deeper way. Like what the priest realized at the end of the story, he thinks all the things that happened. Because of moonlight, he realized the significance of everything. Moonlight gave him a clear mind, a bright and colorful realization of Gods creature and the purpose of each of them.
In applying to a real life situation. This story there is a lot of people who can relate to it because if you read this, you are remembering of past experiences that gives a big mark in your life. Those experiences that make your life whole or make you change in your bad deeds.

The hate of Montressor and the buried alive Fortunato describes the two soldiers that they treated each other as brothers then, but it was broken by hate.

Ku Turion Si Kulakog
Circumcision is a process to which the young boy became a matured one. It indicates that if a young boy undergoes circumcision, he will consider as a matured one. In the story of Jose Jason L. Chancoco entitled “ku turion c Kolokoy”,  it suggests or tell that a young boy should undergo a circumcision because of the pain he is going to feel. But his parents convinced him to be circumcised with Dr. Ong. They explained that Dr. Ong has a power to remove the pain when he circumcising. And also the parents of Barok use the name Kulakog just to make him afraid. She described Kulakog as the one who caught the young boy who are not circumcised. Kulakog represents as the demon to the story, it is an imaginary character made by the parents of Kulakog just to frighten him. And Dr. Ong uses the magic butadiene just to convince Bornok she better than Kulakog. Also the anesthesia, for him not to feel the pain.
The authors trying to say in the story, is the development of a child and the development of a child’s mind. That, when we are still young, we are easy to believe to what the adult tells us. Like in the story, Bornok believes that if he refused to be circumcised he will suffer what Kulakog suffered in tigsik.
